Size Does Matter

Guess what decided to drop by into my room one fine Saturday evening.

Yes, Its an 32 inch Bravia S-Series LCD!! Woohoo!!

Model number KLV-32S310A which is a discontinued model and this was the last unit. It'll be replaced by KLV-32S400A from now on.

This is where I'll be chatting with you guys from now on. This is just a temporary placement but for now this is how my computer table looks like.
So now, I have an LCD TV cum PC monitor in my room. How great is that? I can watch TV, play PC and play my PS3 (soon) all within the comfort of my very own crib. Here's the thing I'm worried about though.

1.) The TV is as close to me as a regular PC monitor

2.) I look at the monitor more often than I see the sunlight. There goes my eyesight....again..

3.) Gotta repay my dad as he bought it for me first cos it was on offer.

4.) Radiations on an LCD TV? Can anyone clarify this?

So my parents thinks I'm crazy putting such a huge TV in my room but who cares! This TV is awesome as hell. Oh and this TV also completes my Sony products lineup. Yeap I'm a Sony fanboy. So here are some Sony products I have

1.) Sony PSP

2.) Sony T-9 Camera

3.) Sony Playstation 3

4.) The Sony LCD TV

5.) Sony Vaio Laptop

The only thing left to get is a Sony Ericsson handphone which I have been trying to save up but failed. Anyway I think I've been overspending like crazy and yea my mom is right. My toys are getting a bit too expensive. I spent RM2.5k on the Sony Vaio laptop and another RM1999 for this LCD. Thats almost 5k in a month!! OMGAWD!~ Call me a geek or whatever you want but the real reason I bought this LCD is for none other than to play my favourite game which will be out in another 3 weeks.

Prior to the launch of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots, Lowyat will be having a launch party and we get to purchase the game a day before it's release date. This event is a first in Malaysia as our local gaming scene never actually bothered having launch parties for a game before. Anyone wanna tag along? =P

2008 and Freedom?

HAPPY BELATED 2008 to Earth. Lol I finally updated.... Weather is hot as hell and I got nothing else to do while waiting to go to Daniel's house and follow him visit Victor at the shop he's working at. So it's been almost a month since New Year but I guess I can still list down some resolutions I have for 2008. Here are a few.

1.) I'm sure you guys have heard this one multiple times from me but, this year we have to tag females along on our holiday trips. No more gay-ing around, no more emo-ing with each other and no more all "sausage and egg only" squad.

2.) To be more hardworking and gain more talents. Gotta go to gym more often, can't be the lazy me anymore and overall total self improvement in terms of both physical and mental.

3.) To gain more weight =P

4.) Find true love? (Don't think thats a resolution but oh well)

My parents are leaving for Macau today. Which means I have the house to myself. I can go out anywhere I want, do whatever I want, bring home whoever I want. Basically freedom =P. But I sure am gonna miss my parents, and my doggie too who is currently under the care of my aunt cos I'm too lazy =P.

So for the first day of freedom I'm just gonna chill around until tonight. Will be heading to Laundry Bar tonight to celebrate June and Amanda's 18th Birthday. I feel like getting wasted because my parents are not around but nah, I think I'll just have a few cups tonight. UNLESS! The night can somehow be a blast then maybe, just MAYBE, I'll consider getting drunk but in a bar? I don't think it'll happen..

Speaking of birthdays, it seems like 20th birthdays is a sad rather than happy day. Everyone is dreading how they're turning old and theres no more `teen` in them. Suffice to say, being 20 is still very very young actually. Life has just begun and I'm waiting to see what exciting endeavours is waiting for us in store for our first step towards adulthood.

One Post To Review Em All...Okay Maybe Not

All this while I thought I'd be able to recall all of the handphones I have ever used until a few nights ago. I was out with a bunch of friends at Ming Tien with the usual yum cha session when my friends asked me "Eh, how many phones you change ady ah?". I only managed to name half of the handphone models before I had to dig deep into my brain for the other half. Seems like the amount of handphones I changed has reached an amount that is a tad bit difficult to keep track of.

But that's what you get for keeping up with technology. You will always be behind and you are always losing. You lose money and the so called `new` technology will be obselete in like what? A few months?

I am now extensively trying my best to research on CPUs just to make sure I don't end up with the wrong birthday present. Oh I'm getting a new PC for my birthday, finally. Okay maybe my current CPU isn't THAT old (3 years almost 4) but after doing some research I was pretty much left awed at how much PCs have changed. Just when I was getting all hyped up when I heard what the Duo Core processor can do, they released Core2Duo.

I was yet again WOW-ing at Core2Duo and now they release the Core2Quad. Oh and there are at least 4 variants of Core2Duo processors namely the E6600, E6750 Extreme and another Extreme with some 4 number code just to name a few. WTF IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!! How is anyone supposed to catch up with technology when it changes faster than a multiplying bacteria. Sheesh~~

Ok so back to the title, the yumcha session that day gave me an idea on giving a short review on the handphones I've used so here goes. I sure hope I won't miss out any.

1. Ericsson GH688

This is actually my second phone as I had some old Nokia with an antenna but I have no idea what model that was and it spoiled one day after I got it anyway. By the looks of the picture you guys should be able to tell how old this phone is. Antenna, super small screen, monochrome display and a 2 bar battery life. This was also one of the more difficult phone to use cos even at monochrome screen the interface was slow and sms-es were difficult as hell to read. Of course I'm comparing it to phones in this era but back then, this phone was still crap compared to whats out on the market.

2. Nokia 3310

Okay I guess this phone doesn't need an introduction. An absolutely groundbreaking phone well known for it's "drop also nevermind" and super fast texting feature. This was the BEST monochrome phone to date. You still see people using it up til today, it's reliable, durable, it's fast and it's EXTREMELY CHEAP(today at least). Hands down one of the best phones I've ever used.

3. Nokia N-Gage

Nokia's first and only gaming phone is also a very weird one. The sidetalking design of this phone is just a little bit too attention catchy in the public. It is however extremely comfortable to type and at that time, the design of this phone really appealed to me. I got it mainly because it was a g
aming platform and I kinda liked the design but the games available on the platform are erm... dissapointing. Used this one for quite a while though.

4. Nokia 6260

Ok I admit, I got a bit influenced by Final Fantasy when I saw FF7: Before Crisis available for a mobile phone in Japan. The screen of the mobile phone can be twisted and twirled and that feature also plays a part in the game mechanics. I was instantly attracte
d to the design but was quickly dissapointed by the fact that the phone was only available in Japan. At that time, this phone was the closest resemblance to that FF7 phone, so I traded my N-Gage for it. 4 words, THIS PHONE IS CRAP. It has an absolutely lousy VGA camera, you're gonna look like youre only holding the top bottom of the phone when you're typing on the keypad, the screen is microscopic and they didn't even bother to put an external screen on a premium priced phone!! People still WOW-ed at the twist and twirl factor though...

5. Motorola V3 Razr

Motorola's groundbreaking design phone was also the best deal I got as I traded that lousy and ugly Nokia 6260 (mine was quite badly scratched thanks to it's previous owner) for a spanking shiny Black V3 Razr. This phone was THE phone when it came to design. It was exclusive for managers and CEOs but the phone was later released to the public but very highly priced.

This phone caught a lot of attention while it was with me, (everyone thought it was expensive but I got it for a steal =p) everyone wanted to take a look at it, tech enthusiasts gawked at it and girls just can't get enough of it. So yea the phone does look good on the outside but the interface and everything else on the phone pretty much sucks. My biggest dissapointment with this phone was it's camera. I still remember recording a video of fireworks with this phone on one of the new years, when I stopped recording the file wasn't saved and there was an error. Even still photos had errors when I move too fast. Maybe it was my phone's fault but still a disappointing point to note.

6. Sony Ericsson W550i

When I got rid of my v3 razr for this phone, many people asked me; "What happened to the nice looking phone?" and "Wah why change to this one, the previous one nicer leh". I gotta admit my first Sony Ericsson was also a very surprising one. This phone surprised me at how good the joint venture of both Audiophile Experts, Sony and Dying Phone Makers, Ericsson is working. The phone had excellent speakers, a chiq design, great packed in earphones and the super long lasting BST-37 battery. This was the phone that made me confident of the SE brand.

7. Nokia N90

This phone was bought 2nd hand in some secluded shop selling 2nd hand phones in Singapore. I admit I was still hyped about the FF7 twist and twirl phone thingy and this model was the best representation of it after the crappy 6260. At that time N70 and N90 were the only NSeries phone available and the N90 was at a premium price of RM2.9k. I manage to trade in my W550i and got this phone for around RM1400 due to it's incomplete set. If it was not for the `no vibration` thing I would still be using this phone right now. I'm serious!! I love it's flip feel, I can take excellent self portraits, the keypad is nice to type with and it has a superb screen. Still, too bad for the no vibration.

I shall stop here for now, too many phones and I can't remember whats next...need to recall again =p

To Blog or Not To Blog?

Blogging really conjures up a weird feeling on people. Since writing a diary is already considered somewhat `outdated`, people now turn to blogs to tell the tales of their daily lives. Heck, some people even became famous by blogging (Eg. Kenny Sia). Everyday in a human's life no matter how mundane it is there's bound to be some events or happenings surrounding us (exclude me, I'm not observant enough to notice my surroundings). What I'm trying to say is, theres always something to blog about but how can we keep our blogs as updated as our lives are?

While you're standing at the LRT Station waiting for a train to come? You can blog about how you felt at that time and the expressions of the anonymous people around you. While you're sitting down having lunch? You can blog about how nice the aesthetics of the food is but how bad it tasted. Few hours before receiving your exam results? You can blog about how yesterday was a sleepless night for you etc etc.

So, is it necessary for a blogger to keep his/her blog updated everyday? Won't that be too overwhelming? If everything that's happening around us can be deemed `interesting` then wouldn't our lives be interesting all the time? I do think of my blog whenever something interesting happens in my life however, by the time I get home, how much of that event can I remember to chain up a good blog post?

Note: This post is a random post filled with crap. Just wanted to somewhat `update` my blog with a post. Although senseless but oh well =p

A Brief Entry

All my life I have always been wondering what is it about clubbing, discos and alcohol that manages to attract so many people. I never understood why people liked alcohol. It's bitter and difficult to swallow. How can someone be addicted to something that tastes bad and makes you suffer to get it down your stomach? Trance and techno are noisy, irritating and senseless. How can a person listen to those all day long without going crazy. They put it on their car stereo, their mp3 players, their handphones, and listen to it as a normal person would listen to some Pop or R&B music. It wasn't music, it was noise. I even had a mindset of clubbing being an unhealthy activity and clubbers were stressed up people with no life and it was as bad as smoking.

Due to stages of growing up I'd say however, I'm beginning to realise what it was all about and I'm even looking forward for more sessions. So what was the catch?

My first time clubbing was a few weeks ago in Ruums and I gotta admit. It was helluva lot of fun!! The feeling of sufficient amount of alcohol to hit the active point in your brains and senses without getting you drunk coupled with some fast paced trance and techno music can get you grooving and letting it all loose. I never liked trance/techno musics. I even showed my friends `the finga` whenever they pop in trance music in their cars. Well there is a reason why the music genre is called trance. The catch about these music is it gets deep into your head causing you to be in a state of as the title suggests, TRANCE!!

As for alcohol, besides the effect it gives after a certain amount of consumption, it really is an unhealthy beverage to consume. I guess alcohol is identical to smoking. If you start and like it, then you won't stop consuming it. No matter where you go though, I'd have to say that the company you're with is more important than anything else really.

ICCG short for Inter College Cyber Games was held in our college last 2 weeks. Our entire Computer Games Development class were crew members and another few of my friends joined in too. Being a crew member somewhat gave me a perspective of a part time job. Getting to know new people and working alongside them were really fun too. But the trouble comes when you meet troublesome and lazy people ordering you around to do their dirty work instead. I guess that depicts the stresses of dealing with the community in a workplace.

I haven't been practicing my C programming at all. I'm beginning to feel a little scared of being unable to write out the codes during exams. Guess I gotta buckle up and load up that Microsoft Visual Studio shortcut sitting on my desktop more often. Holidays are over and assignments are piling up as usual. No matter though, a few assignments and an almost nearing exam still wouldn't stop me from going for outings :p........not unless my wallet's empty 0.o
